About the Event

Join LGBTQ API leaders on May 25, 7pm ET | 4PM PT as we reflect back on the year including our calls to action for solidarity with our Black and Brown siblings, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the subsequent increase in racist violence and attacks toward our own community. Looking beyond Asian Pacific Islander American Heritage Month, we will discuss issues that the LGBTQ API community are still facing, what actions we can take to advocate for our rights, health, and safety, and what specific bills such as the Equality Act mean to us.

In the first hour, join Kenrick Ross from National Queer Asian Pacific Islander Alliance (NQAPIA), Georgia State Assemblymember Sam Park, San Diego Pride / San Diego Queer APIMEDA Coalition, The National LGBTQ Task Force, National Asian Pacific American Women's Forum, and the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance (APALA), AFL-CIO for a panel discussion on the state of the LGBTQ API movement. In the second hour, join The National LGBTQ Task Force Action Fund and NEAT along with the national API community as we host API Action Night with opportunities to advocate and support in passing the Equality Act. U.S Representative Mark Takano and Filipino American supermodel, TED speaker, and transgender advocate Geena Rocero will be opening up this event!
